Night-Time Travel on the GuteNachtLinie Routes

Whether you are on your way to work or setting off for a party, our GuteNachtLinie routes will take you safe and sound to your destination and back, deep into the night.
So that night owls no longer have to worry about night-time transport, whether for pleasure or business, we take you to almost every corner of town on our carefully calculated, wide-ranging GuteNachtLinie night-time routes. These mainly travel along the same routes as during day.
You can tell if a GuteNachtLinie route runs from your stop from the logo on the tram or bus stop sign.
GuteNachtLinie frequencies
The GuteNachtLinie routes run at fixed frequencies every day of the week:
- Until 10:30 p.m.: every 15 minutes
- Until 01:30 a.m.: every 30 minutes
- From 02:25 a.m.: every 70 minutes
The normal timetable you know from the day-time routes also applies until 00:15 a.m..
All the schedules are co-ordinated so that you can change from one route to another at certain points. The vehicles wait for one another, so you never miss your connection.
Postplatz meeting spot for GuteNachtLinie routes
In its central position, Postplatz is the most important hub in the Dresden network at night. At regular intervals, almost all the GuteNachtLinie routes meet here at the same time, so you never have to wait long to change vehicles easily. If one route is ever late, the other vehicles all wait: you can rely on it!
The routes meet at Postplatz:
- From 10:45 p.m. to 01:45 a.m.: every 30 minutes
- After that at 02:25 a.m., 03:35 a.m., 04:15 a.m. and 04:45 a.m.
If you are ever travelling on a GuteNachtLinie route which does not meet the others at Postplatz, we can still guarantee your connection: get out at Lennéplatz, Hauptbahnhof Nord or Bahnhof Neustadt and change to route 11. That will take you to Postplatz, and so on to all the other routes. Altogether there are eight such meeting-points at important hubs in central Dresden.
Special night-time services
To make night-time travel even more pleasant for our customers, we offer the following additional services at night:

Taxi booking service
If you would like to use a taxi to travel the last few metres home from the stop where you alight, the tram or bus driver will book one for you between 10:00 p.m. and 04:00 a.m.. During your trip, as you wait at a stop, tell the driver you would like a taxi. He or she will then call a taxi to meet you at an accessible stop of your choice. The taxi company prices and general terms and conditions apply for the taxi ride that follows.
Request stops
From 10:00 p.m. to 04:00 a.m. you can also alight from our bus routes between stops. Let the bus driver know where you would like to get out, preferably as you board the bus. Unfortunately it is only possible to stop once between two stops. For your own safety, unscheduled stops are only possible where the traffic and roadworks allow them.
Further information on night-time travel
You will find further information on night-time travel, as well as all the departure times and connections, in the night-time schedule. This convenient brochure can be acquired free of charge at DVB service points, at the customer centre and from many public institutions.
Timetables for the GuteNachtLinie routes from the nearest stop are displayed at many of Dresden’s bars, restaurants, pubs, theatres and cinemas. Last but not least, all tram and bus stops display current timetable information.
